OK, this is going to be a different post than normal. I call it "The Stump Saga" It is the story of the Ash tree, that was lost to the emerald ash borer, stump removal, in pictures. By Hand (UGG! What was I thinking?). By me, mostly, there was some help from a couple of neighbors.
I do not have a perfect picture of that tree before it got that borer, but here are some shots to try to show the size it got to before it had to be taken down.

| April 21. Success! |
Here is what replaced it. A Paper Birch. Planted on April 28, 2018.
I will get more mulch and increase the mulch radius to about 5 or 6 feet, but for now I am done with the Stump Saga.
